Newspapers and television screens bring news of unrest, conflict and war to us everyday. Though we are fortunate to be living in a country less troubled than others, our personal lives will include some amount of disagreement and dispute with others, even those closest to us - our family, friends and colleagues

International, domestic and personal disputes can all be seen as originating from misunderstandings or a lack of understanding. Conflict tends to occur when communication between parties breaks down because of these factors. In response to this, Musashino Gakuin's motto of "Understanding Others" hopes to provide its students with the direction and inspiration to prepare for their future lives both as individuals and as global citizens.
