Self-analysis
Students are challenged to think about their future by examining our society. We are an aging society becoming more and more dependent on social welfare. Our birthrate is falling further into decline. The youth of today remain in education longer. The nature of employment and work opportunities are undergoing rapid change. Globalization brings with it new horizons and new challenges. Students are encouraged to find a theme of interest connected to these sorts of social issues when they are deciding on the direction of their studies with us. Musashino Gakuin offers undergraduate students three major themes of study: Understanding Culture; Understanding Business; and Understanding People.

Graduate School students studying towards our Masters of International Commuication are challenged to build upon their existing studies and life experiences to better understand the existing views and methodologies in this field, as well as to develop and express their own.

Skill development Skill Development
Verbal and non-verbal communication skills are crucial for everyday life. These are developed through various types of study including languages, computer science, hospitality principles and methodology, and presentation skills.

Subject Diversity
Our undergraduate subjects are divided into three steps: basic, specialized and practical. Basic courses are comprised of lectures on topics of culture, sociology, science, sports and other general interest areas. As students progress into specialized courses, their particular areas of interest amongst our three themes of understanding - culture, business and people - are studied in depth. Those who accept the challenge offered by our practical courses will be given the opportunity to pursue study abroad programs, volunteer programs, internships and courses in traditional culture. This specialized learning is accompanied by tutorials and seminars, allowing students to benefit from the guidance and feedback offered by their lecturers and peers.

Students entering our Graduate School will undertake a variety of coursework subjects and supervised research. Cross-cultural, organisational and media communciation studies are offered in addition to region-based political, economic and cultural subjects, as well as foreign languages.
